Venue Spotlight: St Giles House

Down in the gorgeous Dorset countryside sits one of our favourite wedding venues - St Giles House. A Grade I listed Georgian manor house with grand exteriors and sprawling private parkland, it is the ideal backdrop to weddings year round. The house is full of character whilst also feeling luxurious.

Exclusive use for the whole weekend means guests can relax into two days of celebrations, with accommodation for 42 guests on site, and plenty more options in the local villages.

Friday nights here are often spent in the Forestry Bar, the on-site pub, with food trucks and live music. Or over at the cricket pavilion for a BBQ, Pimms and some friendly competition.

What makes St Giles the ultimate choice for a wedding venue are the on site options for the , wedding ceremony. Couples have their pick of location; the main rooms in the house make for an intimate civil ceremony, or on a summers day the beautiful gardens with the backdrop of the house creates a dramatic scene. For a Christian ceremony the beautiful, historic St Giles Church is a short walk from the main house, with wonderful high ceilings and space for 200 guests, all within the privacy of the estate.

Following the ceremony guests walk across the grounds to the reception on the terrace. For past weddings we have done live canapé cooking stations and summer spritz cocktail bars with sweeping views across the grounds.

After the reception, guests head into the house and into the library. The room seats 120 down two long tables, surrounded by large fireplaces, old paintings and bay windows looking out into the garden. We have helped couples create everything from light summery table scapes, to rich dark wintery dinners.

Cocktail hour follows the dinner, back in the drawing rooms of the main house before the night continues down in the award-winning St Giles House basement nightclub with state of the art sound and lighting, and no one around to complain about noise!
